Big Creek Campground has 29 campsites and in a forested area near the west entrance to Mt. Rainer National Park. It is also close to Glacier View Wilderness and the Sawtooth Trail system including High Rock Lookout Trail #266. Campsites have good privacy between sites and some overlook Big Creek.
The campground is generally open mid May to mid September. Amenities include potable (drinking) water, vault toilets and trash collection. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. The campground requires vehicles to have a tight turning radius. Some parking spurs (up to 20 feet) are paved and others are moss/dirt. Each site also has a table, fire ring and BBQ pedestal. Cell service is fair in the area.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing. Anglers can try their luck at catching brook trout in Big Creek or for those looking to explore the area, the Osborne Mountain Trail starts at the campground.
Other campgrounds in the area include Cougar Rock, La Wis Wis, Ohanapecosh, White River, Tower Rock and Iron Creek.
