Big Creek Campground has 52 campsites and is located on a small stream in Olympic National Forest. The campground is first-come first-served and usually is mid May to late September. The campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (up to 36 feet).
The campground has drinking water, vault toilets and a comfort station. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grill. You can stay up to 14 days and have 8 people per campsite. Cell service is not available in the area.
Big Creek offers a nice basecamp to enjoy hiking, mountain biking, mountain climbing, boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, swimming, horseback riding and the exceptional scenery surrounding the campground. Lake Cushman and the Staircase entrance to Olympic National Park are also nearby with a public boat ramp available in vicinity.
There are also 3 picnic shelters available for group day use.
Staircase Campground is another option with 51 campsites. It is about 7 miles from Big Creek Campground.

First time camping with friends and family came in early Aug stayed almost a week and was wanting to come back first week of September… How does the campground fill up labor day weekend usually? Should I come on a Thursday to be sure to get a spot?
Hi Monique, CammpsitePhotos.com is not associated with any of the campgrounds listed on our site. We provide the photos, campground info and link to make reservations. In general though – Labor Day camping is busy and it would be smart to arrive on Thursday to try and get a first-come, first-serve site over Labor Day weekend at Big Creek.
I camped here last weekend. The campground itself is very nice. The clientele, not so much. Lots of loud partying into the morning hours, then some jerk started firing a gun nonstop at 8 am. I wouldn’t feel safe staying here again without any employees available to enforce the law.
