Birch Bay State Park campground is located next to the beautiful blue cove of Birch Bay and has 167 campsites. There are 147 tent spaces (12′ x 12′) in the forested camping area, plus 20 partial hookup campsites for trailers and RVs (up to 60 feet). The campground also has drinking water, an RV dump station, flush toilets and hot showers ($). Campsites are reservable for arrival dates from May 15 through September 15. They are first-come first-served other times of the year. Check in time is 2:30 pm and check out is 1:00 pm.
Birch Bay State Park includes 664-acres with 8,255 feet of saltwater shoreline on Birch Bay. In addition, the park offers hiking on the beach and trails with spectacular views of the North Cascades Mountains and Canadian Gulf Islands. Interpretive trails also also access to the rare saltwater and freshwater estuary.
Birch Bay State Park – Area Recreation
Outdoor recreation includes boating (boat ramp available), clamming, crabbing, kite boarding, kayaking, swimming, biking, hiking, basketball, beach combing and wildlife viewing.
Larrabee State Park is just 40 miles to the south and next to Bellingham Bay. The campground has 77 campsites.

I spent 3 nights in site 82 from July 10 to 13, 2017. Very nice site. I was in a new small 5th wheel trailer and had some difficulty backing in due in part to inexperience but also a stump across the road which made the turning radius smaller. The campground is well maintained, the staff was very friendly and helpful and the bathrooms are clean. Very happy with the site and the park.
Will NEVER camp here again,,,The host of the campground was directly next to us and they let their dogs bark the ENTIRE time we were there..misery. How is this acceptable? Very inconsiderate.
which site # is this so that others can avoid booking it? Unless the host can roam around?
Did you try asking them to control their dogs?

Birch Bay State Park campground is fully open (100% capacity). As of July 20 (lastest post on Washington State Park page) – restrooms/flush toilets, showers and the RV dump station are open.
This is such a beautiful campground. We’ve been there 2x. Site 113 is NOT a good site unless you want to be right next to the restroom- the blower hand dryers are super loud. I advise campers to not camp next to noisy restrooms or group sites that can get very loud.
