Is bogachiel camp ground full for the Fourth of July?

    • Hi Isabella,
Most likely Bogachiel State Park is full over Fourth of July, but you can double check availibity, pricing and make a reservation by clicking on the ‘Make A Reservation’ button.

  2. Is there extra parking for folks sharing a spot who are driving separately?

  3. Catherine says:

Is biking possible at the campground? Is there a basketball hoop on campground or nearby?

    • Hi Catherine,
There are a few nice country roads near Bogachiel State Park where you can ride bikes. Take N. Bogachiel Road under highway 101 and it’ll turn into Undi Road. That continues for several miles with other country roads you can access. There isn’t a hoop court at the campground though.

Hello, I am from CA and our bears here know how to open car doors in order to get into the food. When we went to Yellowstone this past June, the rangers there said, “Our bears aren’t as smart as CA bears, they can’t open car doors, so food in safe to store inside the cars”. My question, after noticing no mention of bear boxes, is this: How smart are WA bears and how do we safely store our food went tent camping?

    • Hi Kapree,
I would error on the side of caution. Bears in general are pretty smart and also have a keen sense of smell. They’ve been known to sniff out lip balm in a tent and shred it trying to see if it’s worth eating. I can’t speak to the intelligence of the bears in Washington, but if there are not any bear boxes at a particular campground, chances are the bear activity is low. With that said, it’s probably a good idea to pack up all your food and stick in in your vehicle. There are also other critters that will get after food if not stored properly.

      • Hi, just wondering if the photo with bears was actually taken at Bogachiel?
        Thanks!

      • Hi Rudy,
I don’t see we have a photo of bears on our Bogachiel State Park campground page. . . but maybe I’m missing it!

      • The pic I’m talking about is in the comments section. This comment is in reply to the comment thread with the picture

      • Oh – thanks. That picture was not taken at Bogachiel State Park. It was in included to show what bears are capable of doing to a campsite if food is not stored properly.

      • Thanks, that’s very reassuring!

  5. Can one still tent camp on an RV site?

  6. does a cab over camper fit into the category van/camper?
