Cougar Flat Overview
Cougar Flat campground has 12 single-family campsites and is located along the Bumping River in the Northern Cascade Range. Eight of the campsites are standard and 4 are walk-in (tent only). Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grate. Campground amenities include drinking water and vault toilet. There’s also a boat ramp at nearby Bumping Lake.
Cougar Flat – Area Recreation
In the summer, visitors can enjoy excellent fishing, hiking, hunting, horseback riding and mountain biking. Winter outdoor recreation includes cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling. Nearby Bumping Lake offers boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing and swimming. Wildlife viewing is also very good in the area. As an added bonus, you also have nice views of Old Scab Mountain.
Other campgrounds in the area include Soda Springs, Bumping Crossing, Cedar Springs, Hells Crossing, Pleasant Valley Recreation Site, Bumping Lake and Lodgepole (Mt. Rainer).
