Cougar Rock campground is adjacent to the Nisqually River and is on the southwest side of Mount Rainer National Park. The campground is a bit rustic and has 173 campsites for tents, trailers and RVs (up to 35 feet). Each campsite also has a table, food storage locker fire ring and grate.
Campground amenities include drinking water, dump station, vault and flush toilets.
The 14, 411 foot Mount Rainier National Park offers some great photo opportunities and visitors can also enjoy the old-growth forests, waterfalls, hiking, climbing, fishing, sight-seeing, biking and wildlife viewing. The area provides a good jumping off spot to hike in the Paradise area with many hiking trails to choose from including the rather difficult, but hauntingly beautiful Wonderland Trail.
