Hamma Hamma Campground Olympic National Forest Washington

Hamma Hamma Overview

Hamma Hamma Campground has 15 first-come, first-serve campsites and is located on the shore of the Hamma Hamma River among evergreen conifers.  A cabin is also available to reserve.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (up to 21 feet). Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill. Campground amenities include vault toilets and trash collection. Drinking water is not available. The campground is usually open mid May through September.

Hamma Hamma Cabin

The historic cabin is a former guard station built from 1936-1937 by the Civilian Conservation Corps. The cabin is open year-round and is typically accessible by car; however, snowy conditions may require alternative transportation such as cross-country skis or snowshoes.

It can accommodate up to six guests and has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with bunk beds, all with mattresses. The kitchen has a table and chairs, stove, dishes, pots, silverware and cooking utensils. The bathroom has a flush toilet. The cabin has also a propane heater, propane lights, an outdoor picnic table and fire ring. Drinking water is not available. The indoor plumbing is for the toilet only and is not potable. Guests must bring plenty of water for drinking, cooking and washing. Guests also need to provide their own sleeping bags, linens, towels, dish soap, matches, first aid kit, toilet paper and garbage bags. All food and garbage must be packed out, and guests are expected to clean the cabin before leaving.
