Kachess Campground Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest Washington

Kachess Overview

Kachess Campground is on the northwest shore of Kachess Lake and has 150 single-family campsites set in a dense old-growth forest. There are 106 sites available to reserve and the rest are first-come first serve. One group campsite is also available that accommodates up to 50 people.

Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets and trash collection.  Cell service is fair in the area.

Two boat launches and a picnic area area also available. These water access points accommodate cartoppers and trailer boats and there is parking for vehicles & trailers. The south boat launch is paved; and the north boat launch is maintained gravel. On busy summer weekends, the boat launch and day use parking areas fill up fast.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs with parking spurs ranging from 23 to 90 feet. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill.

Other campgrounds in the area include Salmon la Sac (8 miles), Wish Poosh (9 miles), and Denny Creek (10 miles).

Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, canoeing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, fishing, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.  The campground is also a great base camp for day-hikers and overnight backpackers. Several access trails from the area give hikers the chance to create their own excursions, whether it be a day hike or an overnight trip.
