Verlot 026

Verlot has 26 campsites (no hookups) and is located close to the Stillaguamish River and just off the Mountain Loop Highway in the stunning Mt. Our favorite Verlot campsites are: 1, 2, 3, 6, 10, 11, 13, 15, 16 and 17. First-come, first-serve (walk-in / no reservation) campsites are 6, 7, 8, 9, 17, 18, 21, 22, 23, 25 and 26. Firewood is also available for sale from the campground host.

Verlot – Area Recreation

The area offers incredible country to explore  with glacier-covered peaks, mountain meadows and old-growth forests. The campground offers a great basecamp to enjoy the variety of outdoor recreation including fishing on the South Fork of the Stillaguamish River, hiking, biking picnicking, river rafting and kayaking. Birding and wildlife viewing are also great here.

  1. Joy Davis says:

It won’t let me make a reservation? any suggestions? Would like to make reservations for next summer.

    • Hi Joy,
CampsitePhotos.com is not associated with the campgrounds listed on our site. We provide the photos of each campsites, campground information and a link to make reservations. The link directs you to ReserveAmerica.com where you can check availability and make a reservation. The reservations are available on a rolling 6 month schedule. In other words, you can first try and make a reservation 6 months to the day you plan on arriving. For example, if you want to arrive at Verlot Campground on July 1, then the first day you can try and make a reservation is January 1. Popular campgrounds sell out quickly so you should try right at 8AM. You can also call: (877) 444-6777

      Prices? Need prices

  2. Sue dennison says:

    Is verlot open in October?

    • Hi Sue,

Verlot campground is usually open mid May through September. You can try calling the local ranger office to see if they extended the season: 541 338-7869

  3. David Elmer says:

How much is wood at the campsite and how many pieces

    • Hi David,
CampsitePhotos.com isn’t associated with the campgrounds. We provide the photos of each site, camping info and link to make reservations. Might be best to try and reach the campground/ranger directly with your question: 541 338-7869. Typically wood bundles at campgrounds will range from $6 to $9 per bundle, and you’ll get about as much wood as you’d buy at a store.

  4. Eric Ofsthus says:

I was wondering any opinion on the quality of the stargazing and what kind of fish might I hope to catch.
    Thanks for your time,
    Eric and Caren

    • Hi Eric,
Stargazing in the Verlot Campground area is good if the skies are clear. I’d advise checking a 10-day weather forecast prior to your trip. The South Fork of the Stillaguamish River (next to Verlot Campground) has some nice trout fishing and other gamefish. You may also hook up with a steelhead, pacific salmon or cutthoat. Have a great time!

  5. Alysia Spencer says:

I tried to reserve a spot and most of the sites say “Walk-up” and don’t allow me to select them. Does this mean these sites cannot be reserved, and are on a first come first serve basis when you arrive?

    • Hi Alysia,
That is correct – Verlot first-come, first-serve (walk-in) campsites can not be reserved. If available, you’ll be able assigned one of these campsites when you arrive. Best to arrive Sun-Thu, and before noon. Verlot campgrounds first-come, first-serve (walk-in / no reservation) campsites are 6, 7, 8, 9, 17, 18, 21, 22, 23, 25 and 26.

  6. Are sites 15 and 16 really close together? They both look to be close to the river.

    • Hi Noah!
Verlot campsites #15 and #16 are right next to each other and share the same parking pad. These are ‘double sites’. I’d say you have about 25-30 feet in between the table/fire ring areas.

  7. Is fishing season open their?

  8. Marie Loiseau says:

Hello! Will campsite #2 have a fire ring? And are fires allowed in September?

    • Hi Marie,
Yes, Verlot campsite (and every other campsite) has a fire ring with a grate. With that said, we did take the photos a few years ago and sometimes the campground may make some changes, but you should have a fire ring at campsite #2.
