Anvil Lake Overview
Anvil Lake Campground has 18 campsites and is located along the shores of the lake in a forested area of the Eagle River District.
The campground is generally open early May to mid October. Reservations are accepted mid May to early September.
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill. Campground amenities include drinking water, vault toilets and trash collection. Firewood is also available for sale from the camp host. Cell service is good in the area.
Anvil Lake Campground – Area Recreation & Activities
Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing. A historic stone and log picnic shelter, built by the Civilian Conservation Corps, is located at the picnic area.
Although the campground is not open during the winter months, the Anvil National Recreation Trail is groomed as both a classic and skate cross country ski trail.
Other campgrounds in the area include Franklin Lake, Kentuck Lake, Spectacle Lake and Luna White Deer. You might also like Laurel Lake Campground.
