Six Mile (WY) Overview

Six Mile Campground has 9 campsites (6 reservable) and is located about 1,000 feet from the North Platte River in Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest.  The campground is at 7,600 feet in elevation and in a high-desert setting with no shade.

Amenities include potable (drinking) water, vault toilets and trash service. Each campsite also has a parking spur, table, food storage locker, fire ring and grate. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Three of the sites are pull-thru.   A boat trailer lot and river access ramp is also available. Cell service is poor at the campground.

Outdoor Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation includes boating/rafting, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, stargazing, picnicking and wildlife viewing.  The area offers views of rugged peaks over 12,000 feet, gorgeous snow-melt lakes and stunning displays of native wildflowers.

Other campgrounds in the area include Pelton Creek, French Creek (WY) and Big Creek Lakes (CO).
