Capitol Reef National Park Overview
Capitol Reef National Park is located in south-central Utah in the heart of red rock country. The park is a hidden treasure filled with cliffs, canyons, domes, and bridges in the Waterpocket Fold. The fold is a geologic monocline (a wrinkle on the earth) extending almost 100 miles.
The park has one developed campground (Fruita) and two primitive campgrounds. There are also many backcountry camping options (permits required). Group camping is also available.
