Bryce Canyon National Park Overview

Bryce Canyon National Park features the largest collection of hoodoos in the world.  It’s not a single canyon though, but a series of natural amphitheaters carved into the edge of a plateau. The elevation of the plateau ranges from 8,000 to 9,000 feet.

There are approximately 60 miles of trails to explore throughout the park. There’s also a scenic drive that traverses the entire length of the main park road (18 miles).  Along the way you can stop at a number of spectaclar view points including Bryce Point, Inspiration Point, Sunset Point, Sunrise Point and others.

Outdoor recreation includes hiking, biking, backcountry hiking/camping, horseback riding, stargazing, photography, picnicking and viewing nature.  There are also ranger programs, astronomy programs, a geology festival each July. Snowshoeing and cross-country skiing are also popular during the winter.

In addition to the campgrounds, facilities include the historic Bryce Canyon Lodge, visitor center, shuttle bus service, restaurants, gift shots, picnic areas, a laundry, showers and public WiFi.

Bryce Canyon National Park Camping

Bryce Canyon National Park has two campgrounds. North Campground is open year round (limited services in winter) and has 103 campsites. Sunset Campground is open mid-April through October and has 99 campsites. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs, However, many of the sites have small parking areas (RVs less than 20 feet). Most campsites are first-come first served.
