Coronado National Forest Overview

Coronado National Forest includes about 1.8 million acres spread throughout the mountain ranges in southeastern Arizona and southwestern New Mexico.

Outdoor recreation includes camping, hiking, backpacking, OHV trail riding, mountain biking, fishing, boating, water sports, horseback riding and picnicking. Wildlife viewing is also great with opportunities to see a variety of desert and forest creatures.

Campgrounds and picnic areas on the Coronado are nearly as diverse as the people who come to visit. Campsites are available from an elevation of 3,000 feet up to 9,000 feet, offering a year round season of camping opportunities and a full spectrum of vegetation and climate zones.
