Crystal Cove State Park Overview

Crystal Cove State Park features 3.2 miles of pristine beach, 2,400 acres of backcountry wilderness and offshore underwater area. It is located just off the Pacific Coast Highway (1) between Corona del mar and Laguna Beach. It is also one of Orange County’s (CA) largest remaining examples of open space and natural seashore.

There are four entrances: two along the bluffs at Pelican Point and Reef Point, and two inland at Los Trancos and School/State Park.

The park also features the federally listed Historic District, an enclave of 46 vintage rustic coastal cottages originally built as a seaside colony in the 1930’s & 40’s. The cottages all have ocean views and a few are beachfront. Los Trancos Creek also passes through the Historic District. Moro Campground offers 57 developed campsites (29 with water & electric hookups). Primitive (backcountry) camping is also available at Deer Canyon, Upper Moro and Lower Moro.

Outdoor recreation includes beach combing, swimming, surfing, snorkeling, hiking, surf fishing, biking, picnicking exploring the historic sites. Wildlife viewing (including whale watching) is also good.
