Mount Rainier National Park Overview

Mount Rainer National Park’s main attraction is the 14,410 Mount Rainer. This active volcano is the most glaciated peak in the contiguous U.S.A. and spawns 5 major rivers.

Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation at the park includes wilderness hiking and climbing, backpacking, biking, camping, fishing, kayaking, cross-country skiing, snow sports, picnicking, photography and wildlife viewing.

Camping & Lodging

Mount Rainer National Park has 4 campgrounds including Cougar Rock (173 sites), Ohanapecosh (188 sites), White River (112 sites) and Mowich Lake (21 primitive tent sites). Cougar Rock and Ohanapecosh campsites are reservable. Group camping is also available at Cougar Rock and Ohanapecosh.

There are also two lodges located inside the Park including the National Park Inn and Paradise Inn.
