Norfork Lake

Norfork Lake Arkansas

Norfork Lake Overview

Norfork Lake offers excellent recreational opportunities on its 22,000 surface acre lake or 32,00 acres of public lands surrounding it. On the water recreation includes boating, fishing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, swimming, scuba diving, sailing and other water sports. Marinas also provide boat rental and related supplies and services.

The undeveloped shoreline also allows for ample room to hike, biking and enjoy the hills and hollows. Hiking trails enable nature observers and photographers to view the Ozark Mountains through the change of seasons. Public lands around Norfork provide hunters with a wide variety of opportunities.

Norfork Lake Camping

Developed parks around the lake offer campsites that range from rustic to modern with electrical hookups, playgrounds, group picnic shelters, designated swimming areas and boat-launching ramps. Concessionaire-operated marinas provide boat and motor rental, fuel and other related supplies and services.

Norfork Lake has 8 developed campgrounds around the lake, as well as 4 rustic campgrounds (Jordan Island, Jordan Cove, Calamity Beach and Kerley Point). A permit for camping at the 4 rustic campgrounds is required and available from the Mountain Home Project Office.
