San Luis Reservoir State Recreation Area Overview

San Luis Reservoir State Recreation Area is located in the grassy hills of the western San Joaquin Valley near historic Pacheco Pass.  The recreation area offers a variety of outdoor activities including boating, water sports, kayaking, board sailing, hiking, biking, horseback riding, camping, and picnicking. Fishing is also popular at any one of the 3 lakes.

Camping

Basalt Campground is located at San Luis Reservoir SRA and has 79 campsites for tents, trailers and RVs (up to 30 feet). It is the only campground located near the San Luis Reservoir. Most campsites also have some decent shade from tall trees.

San Luis Creek Campground is located on the shore of the San Luis Reservoir and has 53 campsites with water and electric hookups. Group camping is also available.
