Sweetwater River Ranch Overview
Sweetwater River Ranch encompasses 31 acres of wildlife refuge, a full half-mile on BOTH sides of the beautiful Arkansas River, with exceptional views of Colorado’s Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
Whether on Sweetwater property or nearby, Sweetwater guests have access to blue-ribbon trout fishing, whitewater rafting on the most rafted river in the United States, kayaking, horseback riding through the mountains, campfires beneath a star-filled sky, rock climbing, train rides through the Royal Gorge, hiking, mountain biking and climbing on Colorado’s world-famous “thirteeners” and “fourteeners,” soaking in a hot springs, gambling at Cripple Creek, exploring a real ghost town, panning for gold, ATVing or 4-wheel driving, bird and wildlife watching, and so much more.
We accommodate RVs and tents, and provide motel rooms and a range of cabins. Fifteen pull-through RV Sites, most sized for slide-outs, with 30- or 50-amp service, water and sewer. Half the sites are riverside and half are Mountain View sites, but all are within 30 yards of the beautiful Arkansas River. Outstanding mountain views are everywhere. Each site with charcoal grill, picnic table and campfire ring.
Sweetwater is not a ‘camper city’ filled with aluminum, exhaust fumes, and crowds. We have kept Sweetwater deliberately small, under-developed and uncomplicated, with a focus on friendly people and the splendor of nature. We’re very proud to be certified officially as a Wildlife Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation.
