Flood’s Cove has been offering the Maine vacation experience for well over one hundred years. Located in Friendship, Maine, Flood’s Cove is about ten miles from Waldoboro, twenty miles from Camden, forty miles from Freeport and the home of L.L. Bean, and fifty miles from Portland. Flood’s Cove offers ocean front rental of summer cottages, island camp sites for sea kayakers and romantic weddings that overlook the ocean. What better way to compliment your relaxing vacation than to go fishing and catch sea mackerel, go for a nice wooded hike or walk around any number of the islands that are just off shore, spend the day kayaking in our complimentary kayaks, get as dirty as you have ever been as you dig for clams and pick mussels? Imagine the smell as you cook your clams, mussels and mackerel on an open rock fire while listening to the waves as they roll ashore just feet from the fire.
The cottage rental fee includes the use of kayaks and a good safe rowboat which is suitable for a ten horsepower motor (not provided). The island sea kayaking camp site rentals include the use of a Flood’s Cove exclusive three sided outhouse, fresh water to fill up your water jugs for the next day’s journey and trash dumping once you place your trash in our trash can that are located on the dock.

All of our cottages have direct views to the sea with attractive locations. Guests have access to sixty-five acres including a mile and a half of shore frontage, including a half mile long island. Household necessities such as utensils, cookware and blankets are provided. Guests must furnish their own linens (sheets, towels, dish clothes etc.) Each cottage has an electric stove, refrigerator and shower. Each cottage has either a large fieldstone fireplace or a woodstove for those chilly Maine nights. Wood can be purchased in the cove or collected for free from the surrounding woods. There is a washer and dryer available for the tenants to use for a nominal charge. Most cottages also benefit from free Wireless Internet access.

You won’t find a more beautiful spot anywhere on the Maine coast. There are some of us that think you won’t find a prettier spot on the planet.
