Alpine Meadow Overview

Alpine Meadow Campground (also known as Martis Creek Lake Campground), is located near Martis Creek Lake and also adjacent to the Truckee Tahoe Airport. Lake Tahoe (Kings Beach) is also about 11 miles away. The (Army Corps of Engineers) campground is open mid-May to mid-October and has 24 single-family campsites.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a paved parking spur, table, lantern post, fire ring and grate. Amenities include potable (drinking) water and vault toilets.  Cell service is good in the area.

A few other campgrounds near Truckee include Prosser Family, Lakeside-Truckee, Boca, Goose Meadows, Granite Flat and Donner Memorial State Park.

Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes hiking, mountain biking, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, picnicking and wildlife viewing. You may also get the chance to watch skydivers float down from the sky.
