China Camp Campground Los Padres National Forest California
China Camp Overview
China Camp has large single-family campsites set under a canopy of tall pine trees in the Los Padres National Forest. The spacious campsites also have plenty of room between neighbors. Campsites 1-5 are available year-round, and campsites 6-10 only in the summer season. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grate. Campsites can accommodate tents and small trailers/RVs (up to 20 feet). Each site can accommodate up to 6 people.
Campground amenities include vault toilets. There is no potable (drinking water) at the campground. There is not any cell service in the area and the nearest store/gas are about 22 miles in Carmel Valley. Check in is 2:00pm and check out is 12:0opm.
China Camp – Area Recreation
There’s some nice hiking trails along the hillside, with the Pine Ridge trailhead located at the campground bulletin board. Wildlife viewing includes opportunities to spot a variety of bird, bobcats, coyotes, deer and other forest creatures. For the adventurous, Tassajara Hot Springs is also about 28 miles to the south via Forest Rod 18S02/Tassajara Road.
