Diablo Campground Tahoe National Forest California
Diablo Overview
Diablo Campground has 19 developed campsites and is located in the Packer Lake Area near the Sierra Buttes at an elevation of about 6,000 feet. Packer Creek also flows near the campground.
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill. Campground amenities include vault toilets. Potable (piped) drinking water is not available, but you can purify from a nearby creek. Cell service is not available. There is some additional/overflow parking available, but its a bit of a hike to the campground.
Area Recreation & Activities
A large network of trails is available in the area, including Deer Lake Trail. This 2.9-mile trail is open to hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking. The Pacific Crest Trail can also be accessed nearby. Many lakes in the area offer fishing. Canoeing and paddeling is available on nearby Packer Lake. Other activities in the area include hunting, river rafting, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
Other campgrounds in the area include Berger, Packsaddle, Salmon Creek and Sardine Lake.
