Forks Bass Lake Campground Sierra National Forest California

Forks Bass Lake Overview

Forks Campground 003

Forks Campground has 30 campsites and is located on a hillside overlooking Bass Lake in a beautiful forest of cedar, ponderosa pine and oak trees. Sites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs.  There are no hookups, but each campsite has a table, pedestal grill, fire ring and paved parking spur. Forks Campground has drinking water, flush toilets, and a nearby picnic area is also nearby.

Bass Lake is a great place to boat, fish, hike, bike, or enjoy the abundant wildlife including bald and golden eagles.  You can also swim, canoe and kayak on the lake. Boat rentals are also available nearby. Nearby hiking trails include Willow Creek, Goat Mountain, Spring Cove and Way-of-the-Mono Interpretive Trail. A variety of educational programs are offered on weekends during the summer.  Yosemite National Park is also about 20 miles north on Highway 41.

Other campgrounds in the area include Wishon Point, Spring Cove and Cedar Bluff.

5 Comments on “Forks Bass Lake”

  1. Jennifer Baker says:

Campsite 024 says it’s campsite 023 – so does that mean that image 025 is campsite 024? I sure hope so!

    • Hi Jennifer,
Good catch! Looks like the numbering sequence is off on campsite photos 22-29. We will get it corrected so that all Forks Bass Lake campsite photos are correct.

  2. Recently announced that they’ve skimmed down the forest and cut down many trees at the campground, little to no shade potentially. Headed there this weekend, hoping site 12 still has some shade!

    • Christine says:

Did you end up having shade? Would love to hear which campsites might still have shade after all the trees were removed. thanks!!

      • Hi Christine,
We don’t have an update on the trees/shade situation at Forks Campground at Bass Lake. You may try calling their information phone #:559 642-3212
