French Meadows Campground has 75 campsites and is located on the south shore of French Meadows Reservoir in the Tahoe National Forest. Most campsites are reservable, but some are held for first-come, first-serve campers.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (25 to 45 feet). Each site also has a table, bear box, fire ring and grill. You can have up to 2 vehicles and 6 people per site.  Camp roads and parking spurs are paved. Campground amenities include drinking water, flush and vault toilets, trash collection and a dump station. A concrete boat launch is nearby. Firewood is also available to purchase from the camp host. Cell services is not available.

Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, kayaking, fishing, swimming, water sports, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing. The North Fork American River is nearby and is a popular river to fish, kayak and whitewater raft.

Other campgrounds in the area include Ahart, Black Bear, Poppy, Big Meadows and Hell Hole. You might also like Stumpy Meadows campground.
