Horse Creek Recreation Area Overview

Horse Creek Recreation Area campground has 77 single-family campsites and is located on the shores of the Kaweah River and Kaweah Lake in the Sierra Nevada foothills. The sites are mostly large with great views of the lake. Some sites also have shade structures.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grate. Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, showers and a dump station. Firewood is also available for sale from the camp host.

Horse Creek Recreation Area – Outdoor Activities

The river and lake offer great fishing, boating, canoeing, kayak, swimming, windsurfing, water-skiing and sailing. It is also just 10 miles from Sequoia National Park and is a great basecamp to visit the big trees. Other outdoor recreation includes hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
