Matthews Creek Campground Klamath National Forest California
Matthews Creek Overview
Matthews Creek Campground has 10 (first-come, first-serve) campsites in a forested setting and overlooks the South Fork of the Salmon River. The campground is about 100 feet above the river and campsites do not have access to the water unless you want to scramble down a steep hillside.
Campground amenities include vault toilets and trash collection. Potable (drinking) water is sometimes available but best to take your own or filter from the river. Cell service is not available. Campsites are best for tent camping but can also accommodate small trailers or RVs (up to 24 feet). Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill.
Other campgrounds in the area include Hotelling, East Fork and Trail Creek.
