Buffalo (CO) Overview
Buffalo Campground (aka Buffalo Creek) has 37 campsites and is located near Buffalo Creek in the Buffalo Creek Recreation Area, about an hours drive from Denver, CO.
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (18 to 32 feet). Some sites are designated for tent-only camping. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill. Hookups are not available. Campground amenities include vault toilets and trash collection. Potable (drinking) water is not available. Cell service is not available.
Other campgrounds in the area include Meadows Group, Green Mountain, Kelsey, Platte River, Ouzel, Lone Rock, Osprey and Lost Park.
Buffalo Campground – Area Recreation & Activities
The Buffalo Creek Recreation Area is home to a 40-mile trail system most popular with mountain bikers, but hikers and horseback riders enjoy the area as well. Several trailheads are within walking distance of the campground. Other recreation includes fishing, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
