House Creek Campground San Juan National Forest Colorado

House Creek Overview

House Creek Campground has 22 newly renovated campsites and is located next to McPhee Reservoir in San Juan National Forest. One group campsite is also available. The campground is open year-round (no services between November and May), with reservations accepted early may through October.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a paved parking spur (30 to 50 feet), table, fire ring and grill.  Some of the sites have a shade structure over the table. The group site (“Great Horned Owl”) can have up to 60 people and 16 vehicles. Campground amenities include drinking water, vault toilets, an RV dump station and trash collection. There’s also a picnic area, playground, boat ramp and boat trailer lot at the campground. Cell service is poor at the campground.

McPhee Recreation Area Complex campground is also nearby and Bradfield Campground is about 40 miles away.

House Creek Campground – Area Recreation and Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, water sports, swimming, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, paddle-boarding, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing. The town of Dolores, CO is also about 14 miles away.
