Lake Irwin Overview

Lake Irwin Campground is located next to the lake on the eastern side and by the Ruby Mountain Range on the western side. This popular campground is usually open mid June to early October and has 32 single-family campsites (most reservable).

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grate. There are no hookups. Amenities include potable (drinking) water from a hand pump and 3 vault toilets. Firewood is also available for purchase from the camp host. ADA campsites are #2, #12 and #30.

Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, ATVing, picnicking, hunting, horseback riding and wildlife viewing. You can also canoe, kayak and SUP on the lake. The town of Crested Butte is also about 9 miles away.
