Thistledown Overview
Thistledown Campground has 9 campsites (best suited for tent camping) and is next to the historic site of Thistledown and the Weehawken Trailhead in Canyon Creek. This is a popular campground for people planning to hike into Mount Sneffles and other nearby trails.
All campsites are first-come, first-serve. Campground amenities include a vault toilet. There is no potable water available. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grill.
Angel Creek Campground is also nearby.
Area Recreation & Activities
Outdoor recreation in the area includes hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, fishing, OHV trail riding, picnicking and wildlife viewing. The historic gold mining town of Ouray is also just a few miles from the campground.
