Ocean Pond Campground has 67 single-family campsites and is located next to a 2-mile wide lake in a beautiful forest in the Osceola National Forest. There are 19 sites with water & electric hookups, and 27 with water hookups. There are also 20 primitive sites. All sites are first come, first-served. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Group camping is also available. Each site also has a table, lantern post, fire ring and grate.

Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets and a dump station ($). There’s also a boat ramp, picnic area, mixed-used trails, boat launch, beach, and fishing pier. Firewood is also available for sale from the camp host.

Ocean Pond – Area Recreation

Ocean Pond rest in the smallest of Florida’s three National Forests, Osceola National Forest. The forest is between Lake City and Jacksonville.  Outdoor recreation includes boating, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, hiking, biking, hunting and picnicking. Wildlife viewing is also nice here. You may also want to visit the nearby Olustee Battlefield Park. It’s 4 miles away and was the site of Florida’s only Civil War battle in 1864.

You may also be interested in Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park. Up closer to Jacksonville, Maple Set campground also has 4 primitive tent only campsites. Hog Pen Landing is another option.

    YOUR RATES HAVE GONE UP ASTRONOMICALLY, THERE IS NOTHING BUT A SMALL BEACH AND PAVILION AND NICE BIKING, THE BATHHOUSES ARE OLD AND DIRTY, HALF DON’T WORK, I GUESS YOU’LL LOTS OF BIG PAYERS…
