  1. Kay Lord says:

Will a 29.7 ft fifth wheel fit into a 30 ft campsite? We requested a 40 ft campsite but was given number 9 which is only 30 ft. We are concerned our fifth wheel is too large/long for this site.

    • Hi Kay,
I think it would be best to contact Moccasin Creek State Park directly at: 706 947-3194. I’d say if your trailer is 30 feet or under (including tongue), you’ll be okay!

  2. Donna Higginbotham says:

(We actually stayed in June of 2022)
It was a very pretty campground about 30 minutes from Helen Georgia. Our site was almost level. Sites are kind of close to each other. You do have space but its not private. It is right on Lake Burton. You were only allowed to fish if you were under the age of 11 or over the age of 65. No swimming or even wading was allowed. Although you can kayak.
There was no TV reception but Wi-Fi was pretty good. It was sporadic at times. But they said they were working on that. People here were mostly locals and very friendly.
Lots of nice hikes near the park. Hemlock Falls is 3 miles and worth the hike. Anna Ruby falls was 1 mile paved but steep in areas.
Lots to see and do in the area. There is a Lavender Farm near, and shopping and flea markets.
    I would definitely stay again!
