Grape Island Campground Massachusetts

Grape Island Overview

Grape Island 008

Grape Island campground has 10 tent-campsites and is, believe it or not, located on an island 10 miles from Boston in Boston Islands National & State Park. The island includes about 50 acres at high tide (doubling to 100 acres at low tide) of trees, wild berries, birds and natural beauty.

Campers are required to pack in/out all gear and trash. They are also required to bring one gallon of water per person per day. The campground has a vault toilet and each site also has a picnic table. You can access the island by private boat or ferry.

Grape Island – Area Recreation & Info

The island has a variety of outdoor recreation including hiking, fishing,  swimming, kayaking and picnicking. There’s also an abundance of wildlife to see.

There are also three other campgrounds in Boston Harbor and they  include Bumpkin, Lovells and Peddocks Island.

You might also like Wompatuck State Park.

  1. Shuttled over 3 families and food to find charcoal grills piled like scrap metal. What a waste of time and money. Nice job DCR.
