Stone Mountain State Park Campground has 88 single-family campsites for tents, trailers and RVs. There are 41 campsites with electric hookups. All campsites have a tent pad, table, fire ring and grill. Group camping is also available (up to 25 people per group site / 4 available). Each group site has a table, fire ring, grill and access to water, restrooms and showers.  There are also six backpacking camping sites.

The campground has a dump station, drinking water, flush toilets and hot showers. Camping reservations are recommended, but if a site is not reserved it is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Six people and two visitors per site.

Stone Mountain State Park – Area Recreation

Stone Mountain State Park features a 600-foot granite dome that offers some great hiking (over 18 miles of trails) and spectacular views.  The Park also has some great fishing (and fly-fishing) in more than 20 miles of designated trout waters.  Other outdoor activities include picnicking, hiking, biking, horseback riding, rock climbing and wildlife viewing.

FYI – you will need a permit to do any rock climbing on the 600-foot granite face of Stone Mountain.

Doughton Park is another option if Stone Mountain State Park campground is full.  It has 132 campsites and is 31 miles from Stone Mountain State Park.
