Brantley Lake Bathroom

Brantley Lake State Park Campground (Limestone) has 51 campsites. All campsites have water/electric hookups and 3 have full hookups.  The campground has drinking water, flush toilets, showers ($) and an RV dump station.  The Park also has a visitor center, picnic area, boat ramp, hiking trails and primitive camping at Rocky Bay. Each campsite also has a table, shade structure, fire ring, gate and paved parking pad.

Our favorite sites are #14, #16 and #35.

Bottomless Lakes State Park is about 69 miles to the north. And Guadalupe Mountains National Park is 71 miles to the south.

Brantley Lake State Park Area Recreation

The Park encompasses about 3,000 acres of land, while the lake surface covers 2,500 acres.

Brantley Lake State Park encompasses about 3,000 acres of land and the lake has over 2,500 surfaces acres. The Park is also New Mexico’s newest state park. It is the southernmost lake in New Mexico, and a refreshing place to fish and enjoy other water sports. The visitor center includes historical exhibits about the Wild West town of Seven Rivers (which now lies under the water of the lake). Anglers can catch a variety of warm water fish such as largemouth bass, walleye, channel catfish, white bass, bluegill and crappie.

The “Go-Fly-a-Kite” rally is held in March; the “Shoreline Sweep” is a part of the Park’s Earth Day celebration in April; and the “Kids Fishing Clinic” is held in May. Throughout the summer, Saturday night campground programs are popular. Other outdoor recreation includes boating, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, horseback riding, mountain biking, hiking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
