Stony Fork Overview

Stony Fork Campground has 53 spacious campsites (45 with electric hookups) and is located in a forested area at the base of Big Walker Mountain and next to the Big Walker Scenic Byway. The East Fork of Stony Fork Creek also winds through the campground.  Stony Fork Cabin is available to rent.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also ha a paved parking spur (ranging from 25 to 40 feet; a few are over 100 feet), table, fire ring and grill.

Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, hot-water showers, trash collection and a dump station. Cell service is good in the area.

Raccoon Branch Campground and Hurricane Campground are also within about 30 miles.

Area Recreation & Activities

The East Fork of Stony Fork Creek winds through the campground and provides water play and trout fishing. Also check out the one mile nature trail and walk through stands of pine and hardwoods. Seven Sisters Trail also leads from the campground to the top of Little Walker Mountain and back to the Scenic Byway. Other activities in the area include hunting, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
