Graves Creek Campground Olympic National Park Washington

Graves Creek Overview

Graves Creek 011

Graves Creek campground has 30 first-come, first-serve sites along the heavily forested shore of the Quinault River. The primitive campground is open year round and is located in the Western Olympic Peninsula of Olympic National Park at 540 feet in elevation. The campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. There is no drinking water, but it does have delightful flush toilets in the summer months. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grill. Our favorite Graves Creek campsites are 2, 4, 17 and 23.

The area (also known as “Enchanted Valley”) is usually wet (hence the old-growth rain forest) and you will need to travel on a rather long access road to get there.

Graves Creek Area Recreation

Outdoor recreation includes fishing, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking, photography and wildlife viewing.

Staircase campground is another one to consider if you’re in to the wet and wild of Olympic National Park.

  1. Steven Warren says:

Definitely one of my favorite get aways. It can be tough to get a site in the summer months so I prefer off season myself. Absolutely Not Recommended for RV’s!!! The road to Graves Creek after you leave the loop is long and there are several dry creeks that they have built concrete crossings at. They drop steeply down run for 10′-15′ and rise steeply up on the opposite side. You will not cross one of these with an RV or Camp Trailer, I guarantee it and if you choose to ignore this advice you will find turning around when you realize I was right isn’t any better. Great place, highly recommend.

  2. Stayed there one nite. Found it a very good campground. Would stay there again.
