Lake Wenatchee State Park Comments & Reviews
Visited Lake Wenatchee State Park Campground lately? We'd love to hear about your adventure. Did you find us useful? Did we forget something? Anything our community should know before heading out to Lake Wenatchee State Park?
We stayed here in May 2016 in our 24′ Chinook Destiny. We weren’t able to take advantage of the beautiful lake (being absent our kayaks) too bad as it was beautiful. The main park trail had been recently re-chipped and was a nice walk. The longer hiking trails are only accessible from the lower campground, but the RV campground is the upper one, so we had to hoof it about a mile and across the bridge in order to get there. We hiked part of the Nason Ridge Trail, the signs for which warn of aggressive mountain goats and bears, but we did not encounter either. We did see osprey, Western tanagers, and lots of pretty wildflowers.
I see site 24, 25 and 26 are designated as walk in sites. How far is the parking area from the sites?
Hi Kristen,
Not sure why they have those campsites listed as ‘walk-in/to’ sites. The parking area is very close to the table/fire ring/camping area for all three. In fact you can see how close it is in the photo of #26.
Only the North campground has electric sites. The south also has a little store and an amphitheatre where some nice free entertainment is held. About half of the North has electric available.
The staff is excellent both campgrounds are a short walk from the lake.
